Express love to yourself
Posted by: | CommentsTake a moment and think of the most
beautiful rose you’ve ever seen. The soft
texture, the delicate veins that were
transporting life through the petals, the
subtle variations in color and the
magnificent fragrance.
Do you see it? Can you smell and feel it?
Is it still in your memory? Can you see how
the beauty of the rose now only exists
because of you? You can describe it, maybe
you can paint or draw a picture of it.
The beauty of the rose is in you. The love
it represents is in you. That’s because you
are beauty and you are love.
I hope you see that as clearly as the truth
it represents because you deserve to know
the truth of what you are. I can see it in
you.

Express Love by Writing Down what you love about him or her
Posted by: | CommentsI’m a big believer in the Law of Attraction (LOA). Over the past year, I’ve expressed and strengthened my love to Brenda in many ways. One has been with this site and with everything related to Roses on the Windshield.
When I take the time to write about my love and how wonderful it is, I’m manifesting a better relationship. Last year, I started writing down the things I’m grateful for. Many law of attraction and success books recommend it and I finally started doing it about a year ago. I always end my list with gratitude for Brenda and our love.
I’m normally the first to get up in the morning and write in my journal and gratitude book before Brenda is up. The result is that when I see her first thing, it’s with thoughts of happiness and gratitude. The LOA brings us both the expectation and manifestation of love. If you haven’t given this a try, you may enjoy the results!

Express love through cooking
Posted by: | CommentsI love to cook and, for me, it’s a great way to express love. As I am typing this, I’m smelling the ribs I’ve been smoking fon in the smoker for about the past 5 hours. Made a Memphis dry rub and they keep smelling better. Mmmm
My mom was a great cook and we always had great meals. I enjoyed helping out and I actually started cooking the family barbecued chicken on the grill back when I was in third grade. It was a lot of fun to get the grill set up, mound the charcoal, squirt on the lighter fluid, light it and wait for the coals to get gray so I could start the chicken.
When you think about it, cooking involves all of the senses and there is so much to do to make the experience more memorable and exciting. For me that’s happened when I’ve created something REALLY good or done something REALLY dumb! Either way, it adds to the experience. Of course, food and cooking as part of a romantic evening adds a lot of possibilities and potential for some exciting fun and memories
.
For me, cooking is a way to express my love for the person or people I’m cooking for. I think I used to do it more for my ego to hear everybody tell me how great my meal was but now it’s part of the joy of making others happy. On special occasions, I’ll make Brenda her favorite meal, which is Chicken Kiev with twice-baked potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce.

You are the Rose

You’re probably familiar with the truism that to truly love, you must love yourself first. Love and cultivate the awareness of the creator within you as well as your inner beauty and value.
In The Book of Secrets, Deepak Choprah teaches us a meditation on a rose to uncover the creator within us.
Find a beautiful red rose and hold it in front of you. Smell and absorb the fragrance. Explore the complexity of the the unfolding petals. Softly stroke your cheek and neck . Say to yourself, “Without me this flower would have no fragrance. Without me, this rose would have no color. Without me, this flower would have no texture.”
As you remove yourself from the physical sensations, the rose is nothing but atoms and energy existing in the universe. It is your experience at this moment that creates the beauty of the rose. At this moment, this rose is nothing without you. With you, the rose fulfills its purpose… To be one with your inner beauty. Realize that you are the beauty of the rose. Beauty such as this is truly beauty worth loving, as are you.

Rose of the Day – Greeting Cards of Love
Posted by: | CommentsI recently wrote about placing greeting cards from Brenda and our daughters in my journal. Looking at them always brings me a smile and feelings of love. Carol Ann, who is a member of Roses on the Windshield, wrote to me to share the story below, which I hop you enjoy
*Thank you Paul! I do the same thing – only I hide them like an Easter egg hunt as I get them. In drawers all over the house. And then when I find them it’s such a treasure. I have some things my grown sons wrote when they were little & some cards my now deceased husband made & gave to me. Talk about “Precious Memories” they are more than a song!!!*

Espress love with a smile when you get home
Posted by: | Comments
A lot of times, we arrive home with the weight of the
day on our shoulders. Whether it’s from clients,
employees, kids, traffic or whatever may be on your
mind, it’s easy to be preoccupied and let feelings
created by external events impact how we feel about
our loved ones when we get home.
Several years ago, I started something new. Right
before I get out of the car and again before I turn
the handle of the do to walk in the house, I take a
deep breath and say to myself, “It’s great to be
here, I can’t wait to see Brenda.” I then smile a big
smile and turn the handle to walk in.
For me, this little ritual makes a remarkable
difference in the day. Give it a try for a couple of
weeks. I think you’ll enjoy the results.

Rose of the Day – You are a Creator of Love
Posted by: | CommentsYou have within you the finest possible creator of love and it is the most wonderful of all privileges to support, nurture and encourage this creator.
Allow this Rose to first create love for yourself. From there, it will bloom, multiply and flourish in your life and in the lives of those you touch with your inner beauty.
